Episode 010: Pemmican
Pemmican is the perfect backcountry food. Assuming you can tolerate the bland flavor, the payoffs in weight and nutrition are huge. Traditionally made by many Native American tribes, pemmican was adopted by early explorers, trappers, and mountain men who realized the benefits of such a nutrient-dense and lightweight food. In this episode, I’ll teach you how to make it, and we’ll also talk about some history, nutrition, and (of course) some random tangents.
