Episode 013: Beginner Cheesemaking
The second episode in our cheesemaking series! If you haven’t yet listened to our episode on building your own cheese press, maybe go back and listen to that one first (or whatever, you can jump right in on this episode too). Today we make two different cheeses, a traditional Mexican queso blanco, and a simple farm cheese. Both are easy to make and require only a couple ingredients. The major difference is that one requires the use of a cheese press, and the other can be made without a cheese press. Both of these cheeses should be eaten fresh, so you don’t even have to wait through the aging process before enjoying your masterpiece.
The book that I referenced in this episode is “Artisan Cheese Making at Home” by Mary Karlin.
