Episode 044: The Rabbit Hunt

Food is one of those things that we all have in common. In recent years, the discussion around where our food comes from, local food, and sustainable/regenerative practices has come to the forefront of public awareness. Today we’re tackling a controversial topic- hunting. whether you are opposed to hunting of any type, or staunchly support the activity, let’s discuss it in a way that focuses more on what we have in common and less on our differences. We may never succeed in changing each other’s viewpoints or beliefs, but if we can be patient and open-minded, we can at least come away from a discussion understanding one another just a little bit better. On the episode today, we actually go rabbit hunting, which gives us a chance to talk about some general hunting methods and tactics. Additionally, we discuss how someone who has never been hunting before can try it out, even if they don’t live in a rural area or even know anyone who hunts. So, if you’re not a hunter, but you’re intrigued, I’m going to lay out a step-by-step plan to get you out into the field and get your meat back to your table. If you are a hunter, be forewarned, I’m going to talk about how you can portray a better public image of yourself and your activities.
